Private Wine Tours from Lisbon
Two wine regions are within reach of Lisbon. Arrábida, about 40 minutes south across the Tagus, has small family wineries and coastal views. The Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage region and the home of port wine, is about four hours north by road. Duca runs private wine tours to both, as a day trip, a route of two or three days through Porto, or a one way transfer with winery stops.

Frequently asked questions
Which wine region should I choose from Lisbon?
If you have half a day, Arrábida is about 40 minutes each way and the tour takes around 6.5 hours door to door. If you can give a full day or more, the Douro Valley is about four hours each way, which is why many guests combine it with a night or two in Porto.
Is wine tasting included?
Yes, a tasting is built into each tour on this page. In Arrábida it is a guided tasting of 12 wines at two family wineries. On the Douro Valley tours it takes place in and around Pinhão, and on the Porto day trip it is a port wine tasting in Vila Nova de Gaia.
Can I visit the Douro Valley in one day from Lisbon?
Yes, our private Douro Valley day trip does it in about 13 hours, with roughly four hours of driving each way. Many guests prefer our two or three day tours, which add Porto and a night in the region.
What is port wine, and where is it made?
Port is a fortified wine made from grapes grown in the Douro Valley and aged in the cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia, across the river from Porto. Our Porto tours include a port wine tasting in Gaia, and the Douro tours visit the vineyards where the grapes grow.
Who drives on a wine tour?
Your driver-guide does the driving, so everyone in your group can taste. The vehicle is private and air-conditioned, and picks you up from your hotel or address in the Lisbon area.
