A private day trip from Lisbon to the Douro Valley, with an experienced driver-guide and a vehicle that's just for your group, air-conditioned throughout. We drive the N222, one of the most scenic roads in the country, with a wine tasting in Pinhão and a boat trip on the river along the way. It's a full day — about 13 hours door to door.
The Douro is the world's oldest demarcated wine region, and the valley looks it: vineyards cut into the hillsides in narrow stone terraces, running down to the river on both banks. We take it slowly, with stops for photos along the way.
