A private day tour from Lisbon through five of Central Portugal's most distinctive places, with an experienced driver-guide and a vehicle that's just for your group, air-conditioned throughout. It's a full day, so we set off early to give each stop room to breathe.
We start in Óbidos, a small walled town whose cobbled streets and whitewashed houses have changed little in centuries. From there we drive to Nazaré, known for its fishing tradition and the cliffs above Praia do Norte, where the town's giant winter waves are made. Next comes Alcobaça, where the monastery holds the tomb of King Pedro I and his tragic story with Inês de Castro. Batalha follows, with its Gothic monastery built to mark a 14th-century battlefield victory. We close the day in Fátima, one of the world's most visited pilgrimage sites, before returning to Lisbon.
