It is a one way private journey to Lisbon where you stop along the way instead of driving straight through. Common stops are Coimbra, Fátima, Nazaré, Óbidos, Évora, Toledo and the Vicentine and Alentejo coast, depending on where you start.
Who drives and guides the transfer?
Your transfer is led by Rui Catalão, our certified guide-interpreter, or by one of our experienced driver-guides. They speak English and Portuguese.
Can I choose the stops?
Yes, on most routes. Tell us what you would like to see and how much time you have, and we plan the stops around you. You can also go direct if you prefer a straight journey. Some routes, such as Madrid to Lisbon, have built-in stops.
What vehicle will we travel in?
A private vehicle for your group only. We choose the vehicle according to the number of travellers.
Are meals included?
Meals are not included in most of our transfers, and your driver-guide can suggest places to eat along the way. On the Porto to Lisbon route through the Douro Valley, a country brunch is part of the day, and its page has the details.
How long is a transfer to Lisbon?
It depends on where you start and on the stops. Porto to Lisbon is about 300 km and around 7 hours with stops. From the Douro Valley it is about 380 km and around 9 hours, from the Algarve around 9 hours and from Seville around 7 hours. Madrid to Lisbon is about 6 hours of driving plus your stops. The Porto route through the Douro Valley, with wineries, brunch and a boat trip, takes around 11 hours.
How much does a transfer to Lisbon cost?
The price depends on the route and on the number of participants. Prices start from €114 per person for Porto to Lisbon through the Douro Valley, €128.50 for Porto to Lisbon with heritage stops, €136 from the Algarve, €147 from the Douro Valley, €211 from Seville and €235 from Madrid.
