A full day covering the best of the Sintra coast: Pena Palace with your entrance ticket included, the historic center, Quinta da Regaleira, the cliffs of Cabo da Roca, and the seaside town of Cascais. You'll have a private vehicle and an experienced driver-guide with you throughout, in English or Portuguese.
We start early to get ahead of the crowds at Pena Palace, then walk down into Sintra's UNESCO-listed historic center before continuing to Quinta da Regaleira. From there it's on to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, and a stop in Cascais before the drive back to your hotel.
If you'd rather spend the whole day inside Sintra without the drive to the coast, our Sintra Full-Day tour covers Pena Palace, the Moorish Castle and Quinta da Regaleira in more depth. For a shorter version of this coastal route, there's also our Sintra & Cascais half-day tour.
This is one of four private Sintra tours we run from Lisbon. Compare them all on our Sintra tours page.

Duca has been running this Sintra coast route since 2004, and our guides know the best order to see these stops and how to time Pena Palace ahead of the crowds. Duca was founded here in Sintra, and that local grounding shapes how we plan this route: the mountain roads, the timing at the gates, and a few corners a standard itinerary tends to miss.
Itinerary
Pena Palace
We start at Pena Palace, with your entrance ticket included and a driver-guide walking you through the rooms and terraces.
Sintra historic center
From there we walk down into Sintra's historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, past the old town hall and the narrow streets around the National Palace.
Quinta da Regaleira
Quinta da Regaleira is next — the gardens, grottoes and the Initiatic Well are worth going inside for, though that entrance ticket isn't included and is bought locally. Let us know in advance if you'd like time for it and we'll plan the day around it.
Cabo da Roca
We then drive out to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, for the cliffs and the view out over the Atlantic.
Cascais
The day ends with a stop in Cascais, a relaxed seaside town, before we drive you back to your hotel in the greater Lisbon area.
